Mieko Kawakami, the author of Breasts and Eggs, introduces her new novel Sisters in Yellow (Picador)-a story of friendship, betrayal and dive bars in ’90s Sangenjaya-at UK events from 26–28 August, with further dates to be announced.

- Thursday 27 August, 20:30–21:30 - Edinburgh International Book Festival, £15.50 full / £14.50 over 60 / £10.50 under 30, chaired by Maria Garbutt-Lucero with ESEA Lit Fest, supported by the Hawthornden Foundation and Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation. A pay-what-you-can livestream is available, on demand after the event.
- Friday 28 August, 19:45 - Southbank Centre, London, presented in association with the Japan Foundation (last few tickets when checked).
The tour is organised by Picador with the Japan Foundation as supporter; the Manchester Literature Festival date (25 August) had sold out when checked.
